Are you suffering from ingrown or involuted toenail?
Are you searching for a pain-free and non-surgical solution?
What is Onyfix?
Onyfix is a specialized technique and product used in the field of podiatry (foot care) to treat various nail conditions. Specifically, Onyfix refers to a system for correcting and managing ingrown toenails and other nail deformities.
The Onyfix system involves the application of a flexible composite resin to the affected toenail. The resin is carefully shaped and adhered to the nail, providing a gentle but steady upward force. This technique aims to correct the curvature of the nail and reduce pressure on the surrounding skin, alleviating pain and promoting proper nail growth.
The resin used in Onyfix is flexible and allows for natural movement of the toenail. It can be easily trimmed and adjusted as the nail grows. The treatment is typically performed by a podiatrist or a trained foot care professional who has expertise in using the Onyfix system.
By using Onyfix, podiatrists can provide an alternative to more invasive treatments for ingrown toenails, such as partial or total nail removal. The goal of Onyfix is to resolve nail conditions while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the nail and minimizing discomfort for the patient.
It's worth noting that while Onyfix has gained popularity in recent years, it's always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan for any nail-related issues.
How does Onyfix work?
Onyfix is an innovative method for correcting nail issues, specifically ingrown or curved toenails, without resorting to surgery or experiencing any discomfort.
Using a specialized composite material that hardens when exposed to LED light, Onyfix acts as a supportive brace on the nail surface. This ensures that the nail maintains its proper shape as it grows from the nail bed to the tip, effectively reshaping the path for new nail growth.
The Onyfix system is applied to the toenail and remains in place for approximately 2-3 months. As the toenail grows, the Onyfix adapts and moves along with it, assisting the nail in growing in the correct alignment. During this period, additional bands can be added to the toenail as needed to achieve the desired outcome.
Typically, it is recommended to have 3-4 band applications with appointments scheduled every six weeks. Once the treatment is complete, the hardened composite material is removed, allowing the nail to continue its natural growth process.
